“Every year it makes me so proud to see our members show out in numbers to help the members of our community in need around the holidays,” stated New York City District Council of Carpenters Executive Secretary-Treasurer Joseph Geiger. “We are grateful to be able to do our part to give back alongside our elected leaders. The holiday season is a joyful time but can also be a source of stress for many, and we are happy to be able to provide some relief to those members of our community who are struggling.”

“The Thanksgiving meal is a time-honored tradition for all of us as Americans, as we gather with our loved ones and give thanks for the blessings in our lives. But with food insecurity still a very real threat in our borough, far too many families face the prospect of not being able to put that meal on the table this holiday season,” said Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. “I’m deeply grateful to the Carpenter Contractor Alliance of Metropolitan New York, who donated 100 of the 500 turkeys my office distributed to needy families around Thanksgiving. Despite all we’ve been through, Queens has much to be thankful for, and all our families deserve to be able to fully take part in this wonderful holiday.” said Queens Borough President Donovan Richards.

“I would like to thank the New York City and Vicinity District Council of Carpenters for their continued efforts to serve our communities across Manhattan. With their support, our office was able to provide families in need with a nourishing Thanksgiving dinner. We are proud to join forces and hope to continue this partnership to give back and serve in the communities we work in day in and day out,” said Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine.

“I would like to thank the New York City and Vicinity District Council of Carpenters for supporting the residents of the Bronx this Thanksgiving. It is inspiring to see members of our community giving back to their neighbors in need,” said Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson.

“I am honored to have partnered with the carpenters union for this holiday food drive and play a role in making people’s holiday just a little bit better. Giving back is what Thanksgiving is all about, so I’m honored to be a part of this great work,” said Senator Jamaal T. Bailey.

“I am thankful to have been able to provide some relief to the families that came out to our Thanksgiving Drive this year. Thank you to the union carpenters and contractors for their dedication to giving back to their neighbors in Queens,” said Senator Jessica Ramos.

“It was an honor to partner with the New York City and Vicinity District Council of Carpenters to help members of our community put food on their table this Thanksgiving. When we stand together and support one another, we can secure a brighter future for all of Brooklyn,” said Senator Zellnor Myrie.

“It is essential to give back to your community,” said Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie. “During the holiday season, a time known for bringing families together, it is even more tantamount. Every family deserves to have a warm meal on the table, and I am grateful to have an opportunity to play a role in making that a reality. I would like to thank Union Carpenters and Contractors for their consistent support here in the Bronx community.”

“Supporting neighbors builds community and makes New York strong. I thank the union carpenters and contractors who partnered with my office and local leaders to deliver warm meals to families for Thanksgiving. The holiday season is an important time to spread joy and engage in meaningful volunteer work,” said Council Member Carlina Rivera (D-02).

“The Carpenters union steps up each and every year with these Thanksgiving drives and I am grateful for their partnership in ensuring that all the families in my community have a warm meal. Partnerships like this are essential for my community,” said Council Member Francisco Moya.

“I’m so grateful to the members of the District Council of Carpenters for their dedication to serving our City. It brought me so much joy to support our shared Brooklyn community alongside them this Thanksgiving by distributing 100 turkeys to our neighbors at Farragut Houses, Whitman Houses, Lafayette Gardens, and Atlantic Terminal,” said Council Member Crystal Hudson.
