To Those Fighting the Good Fight—A Glimpse from the Other Side of the Desk

To all of you advocating in Albany, DC, and beyond—thank you. Thank you for staying in the arena, for championing every perspective, and for ensuring our elected officials see the full picture before shaping policy. Your work matters deeply.

What I want to share with you is the beauty of your impact—what it looks like lived. To reside in the communities we advocate for. To walk alongside the small businesses we give voice to. To face the challenges of affordable housing in regions with limited workforces yet global appeal.

Life beyond policy and politics is a beautiful thing. Here in the heart of the Adirondack Park, Lake Placid offers a slice of heaven. It may sound cliché to relocate here—I’ll take that—but this place is magic. A tight-knit community of year-round residents and generational family businesses. A hub of athletic excellence and natural splendor, with pristine waters and mountains that inspire in every season.

After years of weekend pilgrimages, we made the leap. I stepped away from daily advocacy to lead the Whiteface Companies as CEO—a change I never anticipated, but one that has brought immense fulfillment.

The Whiteface Companies are nestled on the shoreline of Lake Placid, and includes the Whiteface Club & Resort. Home to the only restaurant on Lake Placid and a historic golf course, it’s a custom home community that shares its amenities with the public: hard true tennis courts, pickleball, a marina, kayaking, paddle boarding, and even a classic Chris Craft boat for lake tours. In winter, the resort transforms into a Currier & Ives postcard—Nordic skiing and snowshoeing trails lit by lanterns, inviting you to explore by day or night. Warm up at the Café with lunch, dinner, or a cozy cocktail.

The scenery never grows old. Sunrises and sunsets glow pink with alpine light, while northern lights and diamond-studded skies dazzle after dark.

I invite you to join us. Take a breath. Enjoy the amenities. Or plan for future days and design your own home in our community. Limited lots remain—townhomes, large duplexes, and single-family homes—ready for your dream getaway.

After fighting the good fight, the jewel of our state awaits—just two hours and fifteen minutes north of the Capitol.
