The Business Council of New York State Embarks on 900 Mile Manufacturing Week Statewide Bus Tour Across New York State
Week-Long Trip to Include Eight Facility Tours
ALBANY – In an effort to highlight New York’s manufacturing history and showcase the current employers of the industry, The Business Council of New York State, on Monday, kicked off a week-long manufacturing bus tour across New York State. The trip, during Manufacturing Week, begins in Brooklyn on Monday, October 7th, and will conclude on Friday, October 11th, in Plattsburgh.
Staff from the Business Council will travel on a motorcoach through five regions of the state to tour manufacturing facilities. Business Council staff will be joined by staff from local and regional chambers, elected officials, and representatives from the state’s Empire State Development agency.
This trip aims to raise awareness and show each manufacturer’s impact on the state and local economies.
“Manufacturing is such an important industry in New York State as it generates more than $75 billion in goods and employs over 400,000 people,” said Heather Mulligan, President & CEO of the Business Council of New York State. “As the state-wide manufacturing association, we are excited to hit the road and visit our great manufacturers and learn from them about how they can grow and prosper to continue providing jobs and keep economies strong across the state.”
The 2024 Made in New York Manufacturing Week Bus Tour itinerary includes stops at the following facilities across New York State:
- Apotheke (Brooklyn)
- Hilliard Corporation (Elmira)
- Pleasant Valley Wine Company (Hammondsport)
- Mollenberg – Betz (Buffalo)
- Confer Plastics (North Tonawanda)
- SUNY Poly (Marcy)
- Agri-Mark (Chateaugay)
- Norsk Titanium (Plattsburgh)
