Veteran New York government affairs professional brings deep experience in legislative advocacy, public policy, coalition building, and issue management

ALBANY, N.Y. — Statewide Public Affairs today announced that Jay Holland has joined the firm as Senior Vice President, adding a seasoned public affairs and government relations professional with extensive experience across New York’s legislative, regulatory, budget, and political landscape.

Holland brings significant experience representing trade associations, nonprofits, small businesses, and national corporations on complex public policy matters. His work has spanned legislative advocacy, state budget negotiations, procurement, economic development, energy, agriculture, hospitality, regulatory affairs, stakeholder engagement, and coalition building.

Before joining Statewide Public Affairs, Holland spent more than a decade in New York government affairs as a contract lobbyist. He previously served as Government Affairs Director for the New York State Restaurant Association, where he led advocacy efforts before the State Legislature, the Executive Chamber, state agencies, and local governments. Earlier in his career, he worked in the New York State Assembly’s communications operation and on political campaigns, giving him a well-rounded perspective on how public policy, public opinion, and communications shape outcomes.

Holland has been recognized by City & State New York on its Albany 40 Under 40 and Upstate Power 100 lists. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where he earned a degree in Political Science with a minor in English. Holland lives and works in the Capital Region and remains actively engaged in New York’s public policy community.
