NYLCV VICTORY FUND LAUNCHES SIX-FIGURE CAMPAIGN TO HOLD NASSAU COUNTY EXECUTIVE BRUCE BLAKEMAN ACCOUNTABLE

By NYLCV Victory Fund | October 23, 2025

Campaign Highlights Blakeman’s Record of Wasting Taxpayer Money to Reward Friends and Allies While Driving Up Energy Costs for Families by Blocking Local Projects and Ignoring Water and Health Needs of Nassau Families

The New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) Victory Fund launched a six-figure Independent Expenditure (IE) against Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman. The campaign includes streaming TV ads, direct mail, and Facebook and Instagram ads delivered to independent swing voters.

In 2021, Blakeman won by fewer than 2,000 votes, less than one percentage point. And Nassau residents have elected a county executive the opposite party of the President every election going back to 1992.

“Families are stuck paying higher bills for their energy because County Executive Blakeman would rather play politics on TV than actually solve problems here on Long Island,” said Joshua Klainberg, Senior Vice President at NYLCV. “Bruce Blakeman has turned Nassau into a playground for his political allies; voters deserve a County Executive who works for them and is focused on providing lower costs, clean water, and a safe and healthy environment.”

The NYLCV Victory Fund is committed to advocating for Nassau families to have affordable energy, clean water, and a healthy environment. Bruce Blakeman has consistently stood in the way, blocking local, homegrown energy projects that would lower utility costs, create jobs, and make the grid cleaner.

The streaming TV ad, Buh-Bye Blakeman, contrasts Blakeman’s spin with the reality of his record:

“Hi, I’m Bruce Blakeman here to sell you on my record –

Who does he think he’s kidding? Here’s what he’s really selling:

Blakeman is just another corrupt politician — and Nassau families aren’t buying what he’s selling. Buh-Bye, Blakeman.”

The ad can be viewed in full here.

The NYLCV Victory Fund will continue to shine a light on Blakeman’s record, ensuring Nassau voters have the facts about his waste, corruption, and misplaced priorities — and reminding them that they deserve lower costs, clean water, and a healthy environment when they vote in November.
