New York, NY – In advance of the general election for New York City, the union carpenters are endorsing Joann Ariola for New York City Council – District 32 in Queens. The members believe that Ariola is the best candidate suited to provide opportunities for hardworking New Yorkers, ensuring good-paying jobs and quality benefits.

This endorsement is one of many as it was a part of a bold union-wide initiative called Carpenters RISE that empowers members to become directly involved in the political process in their communities and beyond. Each candidate participated in a rigorous member-led endorsement process, which included union members representing each candidate’s district.

“The District Council is proud to endorse Joann Ariola because we know that she will stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in labor,” stated Executive Secretary-Treasurer Joseph Geiger. “Ariola is a longtime Queens leader, and the Carpenters Union is confident that she will be a strong voice for working people in Queens and across New York City.”

“I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of the New York City & Vicinity District Council of Carpenters,” stated Joann Ariola, City Council Candidate in District 32. “When elected, I will ensure every action I take as a City Council member uplifts the working men and women of this great city.”
