Cinquanti Will Continue to Represent Labor, Sustainability Interests and Others as Founding Partner of Genium
Sept. 30, 2024 (ALBANY) – Michael Cinquanti, who leads government relations for the New York State Building and Construction Trades Council, is launching a new lobbying firm, Genium, in Albany today. He will continue to represent the Building and Construction Trades Council, along with other clients.

Cinquanti has more than 15 years experience advocating for clients at the highest levels of government. In addition to previously consulting at two top tier lobbying firms in Albany, he has served as a multi-state trade union attorney and policy director in the Northeast region. He has advised various clients in a broad range of activities including procurement, infrastructure, casinos, health & pharmaceuticals, business regulations, and tax law.
Cinquanti’s successes include the expansion of various New York prevailing wage laws, the NYS Fair Play Act, the National Popular Vote interstate compact and multiple states’ wage theft laws which were designed to help exploited workers throughout the construction industry. He spearheaded the successful lobbying effort to establish numerous national leading labor and procurement standards for the renewable energy industry in New York. He has also assisted in moving significantly large-scale onshore and offshore wind projects through the State’s procurement and regulatory processes.
Recognized as both a Trailblazer in Clean Energy and one of Labor’s Rising Stars by City & State, respectively, Michael is a graduate of Ithaca College and Albany Law School. Since 2019, he has served as a Commissioner for the Albany Port District Commission and since 2022, has served on the Board of Directors of the Advance Albany County Alliance.
