HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Every month, we’ll be sharing our highly recommended reads, shows, and exhibits, new and old.
“Since its debut at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 1997, the Irish Repertory Theatre in Chelsea has staged Conor McPherson’s modern masterpiece, The Weir, no less than four times. My wife and I never miss it when it returns – a spellbinding, gut-wrenching, and absolutely riveting play about anguish, unfathomable loss and the remarkable perseverance of the human spirit. Rarely does one get the opportunity to witness true artistic genius in real time – Copland composed in solitude and Monet painted his water lilies alone in Giverny – but lucky ticket-holders have the privilege to watch this wonderful expression of art live and in person – and it’s a play that stays with you long after you leave the theater.”

“John Proctor is the Villain is a fantastic and gripping Broadway play set in a rural Georgia high school. It re-examines Arthur Miller’s The Crucible through a modern, feminist lens, resonating deeply with themes of the #MeToo movement. I highly recommend seeing it—the run has been extended through September 7.”
