Congratulations to Our Candidates!
The Parkside Group congratulates all of our successful candidates on a historic night for Democrats in New York and across the country. It’s always darkest before the dawn, and we are greatly encouraged by the enthusiasm voters have shown for excellent Democratic public servants from all walks of life.
A hearty congratulations to all the mayoral candidates we supported across New York—either directly or through independent expenditures—on their victories this year, including Sean Ryan in Buffalo, Dorcey Applyrs in Albany, and Joe Ferris in Hudson. These candidates communicated fresh, optimistic visions for their cities that voters responded to.
We’re especially proud to celebrate Sharon Owens, who achieved a major milestone as the first African American woman elected as mayor of Syracuse. During the primary she secured the largest landslide win in 50 years, by speaking to the issues that matter most: affordable housing, job creation, and public safety. We’re delighted to have helped her clinch this historic win.
We’re also thrilled to have been the direct mail and digital strategists for Jackie Salvatore, the newly-elected Sheriff for Columbia County. In a swing-upstate county, Jackie will be the only female Sheriff in New York and the first African American woman to serve as Sheriff in our state’s history.
From the Upper East Side to the South Bronx to the North Shore of Staten Island, we are so proud to have helped elect and re-elect Democrats Virginia Maloney, Elsie Encarcion, Justin Sanchez, Shanel Thomas-Henry, James Gennarro, Sandra Ung and Kamillah Hanks to the New York City Council. Whether through direct collaboration or independent efforts, it was a privilege to be part of their successful campaigns – and we know these Council Members will be terrific partners to Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani as we all work to make this city the absolute best it can be.
And finally, congratulations in Dutchess County to Dan Aymar-Blair who was re-elected as Comptroller and to Democrats who won a majority in the legislature for the first time in almost twenty years, as well as to the Westchester, Orange and Ulster County Legislatures on their resounding election victories. We were honored to work alongside all of these dedicated public servants.
It’s been an incredible election year across New York. We’re proud to have played a part in helping candidates with bold ideas and strong values earn voters’ trust.
