Brown & Weinraub Welcomes Roberto Perez and Samantha Acevedo
Brown & Weinraub is pleased to announce the addition of Roberto Perez as Senior Advisor and Samantha Acevedo as Legislative Director, bringing to the firm decades of experience and connections in New York City and New York State government.
Roberto Perez joins Brown Weinraub after more than a decade of leadership in New York City and State government and politics. Roberto has deep relationships with elected officials and political stakeholders in communities across New York State and has a strong record of delivering success for a variety of legislative and issue campaigns. Most recently, Roberto served as Vice President of Legislative Affairs for the New York Power Authority (NYPA) where he advised the NYPA President on legislative and political strategy and served as the primary liaison between NYPA and the Legislature and Executive Chamber. Prior to his work at NYPA, Roberto served in various roles in the New York City Mayor‘s Office under two Mayors, including as Director Intergovernmental Affairs, where he was the chief liaison between the City and federal, state, and local elected officials.
Samantha Acevedo joined Brown & Weinraub after over 13 years of experience in New York State government, holding multiple instrumental positions in the Executive Chamber and the New York State Senate. Most recently, Samantha acted as the Deputy Chief of Staff for State Senator Jessica Ramos, Chair of Labor. While in this role, Samantha spearheaded all legislative operations, which included leading the legislative team on in-depth legislative research and drafting, crafting solutions for policy issues, and creating a comprehensive plan for legislative sessions to strategically advance legislation and budgetary asks. Prior to her position as Deputy Chief of Staff, Samantha held the roles of Legislative Director, Director of Fundraising, Director of Albany Operations, and Special Aide within the Executive Chamber and State Senate.
