Albany Government Affairs Veteran Ed Draves Joins Shenker Russo & Clark LLP as a Director of Government Affairs
City & State Includes Draves On Its Labor Power 100 for Both NYS & NYC
(December 28, 2021, ALBANY, NY) Shenker Russo & Clark LLP today announced that Ed Draves is joining the firm as a Director of Government Affairs. For the last two decades, Draves has been a partner at Bolton St. Johns, and prior to that he was Political and Legislative Director of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) for more than two decades. For the last two years, City & State has included Ed as one of New York’s Labor Power 100.

Since 2001, Draves has provided government affairs advice and strategy on a diverse array of issues and has represented clients in the labor, health care, communications, energy, pension, gaming, and budget sectors. He has coordinated numerous grassroots campaign efforts in support of his clients’ agendas at the local, state and federal level, and has worked on dozens of local and national political campaigns in New York, New Hampshire, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, and California.
Draves worked closely with his clients on the Compassionate Care Act, which legalized medical cannabis. This year Ed and his clients successfully lobbied on legislation which legalized adult use cannabis. He also worked for Rivers Casino as they won one of the upstate casino licenses.
A graduate of Cornell University, Ed and his wife, Eileen Shaughnessy, live in Voorheesville, they have two daughters. Draves will officially join SRC on January 1, 2022.
