Actum Expands Government Affairs, Communications Practice with Former Suffolk Deputy County Executive Hire
Seasoned state and local gov operative Jason Elan joins Actum as a Senior Vice President
New York, New York – Actum LLC today announced it has hired former Suffolk Deputy CE Jason Elan as a Senior Vice President in its New York practice, the latest senior-level hire to join the fast-growing global consultancy. Elan brings 15 years of experience in state and local government, politics, and media relations to the firm.

Elan has held several senior-level positions in government, most notably serving as Deputy County Executive for Suffolk County and as a spokesman for both the Governor and the state legislature. His portfolio of work includes fighting for civil service reform, rehabilitating the image of a state corrections department, galvanizing public support for water quality measures, and electing candidates up and down the ballot.
Prior to joining Actum, Elan served as the Head of External Affairs at BusPatrol. In this role, he oversaw the communications, media relations, and community engagement strategy for the leading provider of school bus safety solutions in North America. Additionally, Elan led a team charged with developing and executing high-stakes advocacy campaigns to advance road safety and transportation innovation in the automated enforcement industry.
