Actum Enhances New York Practice With Addition of Former Senior Advisor to Senator Gillibrand
Lisa Hofflich Joins Actum as a Senior Vice President
New York, New York (January 23, 2024) – Actum LLC, a global consulting firm, today announced the addition of Lisa Hofflich to its leadership team as senior vice president. Lisa’s three decades of experience spans Congress, the New York State legislature, and news organizations, bringing a distinctive blend of communications skills and policy expertise to Actum’s New York operations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lisa Hofflich, former Senior Advisor to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, to our team,” said Rachel Noerdlinger, a Partner at Actum. “Lisa’s extensive experience and expertise in strategic communication, coalition building, and policy development are invaluable assets that will enhance our firm’s capabilities. Her proven track record in navigating complex political landscapes make her an exceptional addition to Actum as we head into the new year.”
For over five years, Lisa served as senior advisor and regional director to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, overseeing the largest issues portfolio in the office and playing a pivotal role in shaping federal policy on education, healthcare, aging, people with disabilities, women/children/families, AAPI, LGBTQ+, food policy and nutrition, agriculture, arts and culture, and fashion. She has experience in managing congressional Appropriations requests and state/federal grant funding, as well as building stakeholder coalitions across government, business, and nonprofit sectors.
Lisa honed her political expertise as legislative advisor for New York State Assembly members Sandra Galef and Amy Paulin, developing policy positions and steering key state legislation that addressed critical areas including child welfare, reproductive rights, and gender equality. During her time in the Assembly, Lisa drafted and worked on numerous bills that were signed into law.
Before her career in politics, Lisa was an investigative television news producer for CNBC, WNBC, and Consumer Reports, as well as an assignment editor for nationally syndicated show “Extra”. She was also a leader in advocacy coalitions that spearheaded the passage of landmark state laws including the Trafficking Victims Protection and Justice Act, the Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act, and the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act.
Lisa reactivated and led the Westchester Chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) and held leadership positions in NOW’s New York State and New York City chapters. She also chaired the New York Public Affairs Committee of the Junior Leagues, a coalition of 8,000 women statewide.
“I’m excited to join this dynamic team and bring my experience in strategic communication and policy from Capitol Hill and Albany to the consulting world,” said Hofflich. “Actum’s growth has been impressive to watch and I’m ready to hit the ground running to make an even bigger impact for our clients.”
