Parkside Celebrates Major Primary Wins
Historic mayoral victories across NYS and NYC Council wins, mark a strong start to the 2025 election cycle
The Parkside Group is proud to congratulate our clients on a tremendous showing in this year’s primary elections. From historic mayoral victories to bold new leadership at the City Council level, we are proud to have worked with and helped a number of campaigns across the State.
In three of the most closely watched mayoral races, our candidates emerged victorious:
- Sharon Owens delivered a landslide win in Syracuse and is poised to become the city’s first Black woman mayor in November.
- Dorcey Applyrs won decisively in Albany, putting her on track to also make history as the city’s first Black woman mayor.
- Senator Sean Ryan secured the Democratic nomination for mayor of Buffalo, earning strong support for his leadership and track record.
On the City Council front, we are proud to have supported a new generation of changemakers, securing 5 campaign victories, including:
- Justin Sanchez, winning in the Bronx’s Council District 17.
- Kamillah Hanks, winning in Staten Island’s Council District 49.
- Virginia Maloney, ahead as of the first round for Manhattan’s Council District 4.
- Elsie Encarnacion, winning in Council District 8 for The Bronx and Manhattan.
- Shanel Thomas Henry, winning in Queens’ Council District 21.
Each of these wins represents more than just a campaign—they reflect the trust of voters, the strength of community-driven platforms, and the caliber of leadership New Yorkers deserve.
We are honored to support the vision and values of these incredible leaders and we look forward to continued victories as we head into November!
